EOC Week 6: Perform Job Analysis, Job Descriptions, Specifications


Visual Merchandising is purely an aesthetics of science and its the backbone of Retail Industry. Visual Merchandising plays a highly major role in Retail Industry. However the merchandise hardly sells in retails where identical merchandise is flooded in the market. Visual Merchandising is a silent selling technique that helps to reduce the employee mix and increase per square feet returns and can further helps in reducing marketing budgets. The activity and profession of developing the floor plans and three-dimensional displays in order to maximize sales.

 VISUAL Merchandising MANAGER - RETAIL BCBGENERATION

Responsibilities:
  • Determine BCBGeneration Floor set strategies with all Retail divisions & Creative Director.
  • Lead Corporate BCBGeneration floorset walk-throughs.
  • Uphold & implement all Corporate Visual Merchandising & Display standards.
  • Continually develop/evolve merchandising techniques.
  • Photograph all priorities within the floorset.
  • Organize & compile all information necessary for producing publication.
  • Utilize the Adobe Creative Suite to format a Visual directive.
  • Traffic the document, obtain feedback from all divisions & make adjustments where necessary.
  • Print & distribute copies to Corporate associates and the field.
  • Partner with all divisions to determine promotional window marketing.
  • Conceptualize ideas: theme, colors, marketing, props, materials, and dimensions for Factory and BCBGeneration stores.
  • Partner with Visual Merchandising and Display team to develop concepts into seasonal window displays and discuss costs and quantities.
  • Create in-store deadlines and compile distribution lists of all materials to be produced/shipped to each store location.
  • Style window mannequin looks that best represent the brand during each season or special occasion.
  • Partner with Buying division to determine product focuses and strategies.
  • Create and design layouts/graphics using CS2 that best represent the delivery/design inspiration/color palette.
  • Provide consistent communication and partner closely with Factory Visual Manager and act as a liaison to the buying, operations and marketing departments.
  • New store openings – Coordinate the type and quantity of visual elements new stores will be receiving.
  • Remain in constant communication with the Buying, Allocation and Retail Operations teams.
  • Store visits- A Corporate point person for any questions regarding visual directives/needs (communication and follow-up).
  • Communicate with the field regarding the implementation of floorsets/visual updates and any signage/fixture requests.
  • New Store openings- Plan fixtures and merchandise placement. Determine type and quantity of visual elements. Travel to location when RVMs are unable to support the opening.
  • Plan and maintain calendars and schedules in order to meet all deadlines.
  • Maintain filing system (hard copy and computer) for all directives.
  • Attend and present at Corporate meetings.
  • Provide ideas and suggestions to help elevate the visual tools generated by the department.
  • Participate in all division’s mailpack success.


Minimum Qualifications:
  • An undergraduate degree in business, marketing or design.
  • Significant experience in retail, retail sales or marketing in order to understand the company mission and direction of stores.

  • Store management experience and knowledge of how to coordinate a visual merchandising staff.
  • A good sense of design, color and style.
  • Creativity and imagination.
  • An awareness of current trends in design, fashion and culture.
  • A high level of attention to detail.
  • The ability to work to deadlines.
  • Good communication skills.
  • The ability to work well as part of a team and also alone.
  • Stamina and energy.
  • Technical drawing skills and good IT skills, possibly in computer-aided design .
